MAID 2027 Awards

To encourage researchers to actively present cutting-edge academic achievements and deepen research innovation, and to recognise the outstanding contributions of students, young scholars, reviewers and conference staff, the 2027 International Conference on Materials and AI-Driven Discovery (MAID 2027) establishes a series of academic honors.

All awards are selected strictly under the principles of Fairness, Justice and Openness, with standardised criteria and procedures.

The specific award categories, eligibility, criteria and selection procedures are as follows:

Best Paper Award
Quota: 2
EligibilityPaper officially accepted by MAID 2027; author registered and completed the required on-site presentation; free from any academic misconduct.
CriteriaOverall paper quality is comprehensively evaluated, focusing on the frontier relevance of the topic, originality and innovation of the research, scientific methodology, authenticity and completeness of experimental data, and academic rigour of conclusions; combined with formatting compliance, industry application value and academic reference value, to select benchmark high-quality papers of the conference.

Best Student Paper Award
Quota: 3
EligibilityFirst author must be a currently enrolled Master's or PhD student; paper officially accepted, registered and presented in person; content compliant and free from academic misconduct.
CriteriaFocus on the student's research competence and academic potential, assessing the paper's innovation highlights, research logical completeness, sound experimental design and practical utility of results; combined with the student's on-site presentation delivery, academic reasoning and Q&A performance, to comprehensively evaluate the quality of the student's research achievements.

Outstanding Young Scholar Award
Quota: 2  |  Self-nomination  |  Age ≤38
EligibilityApplicant aged 38 or below; a formally registered participant of MAID 2027; application by self-nomination.
How to ApplyWithin the application window, 📄download the Application Form for Outstanding Young Scholar Award, send the complete package to maid@smehk.org — personal introduction, research directions and academic experience, with emphasis on representative research achievements, projects, academic outputs and industry contributions in the past three years. Materials must be authentic, complete and valid.
CriteriaComprehensively assess the applicant's academic track record, research innovation capacity, academic impact of representative works, project delivery quality and academic contribution to the field, combined with conference participation enthusiasm and academic activity, to select young researchers with outstanding potential in the field.

Outstanding Reviewer Award
Quota: 3 – 5
EligibilityServing as a MAID 2027 reviewer who actively participates throughout the review period, completes assignments on time and in good quality, and conscientiously fulfils review responsibilities.
CriteriaRated on overall review performance, focusing on review response timeliness, number of completed reviews, professionalism, rigour and objectivity of review comments, and outstanding contribution to paper quality control and academic compliance supervision, to recognise reviewers who conscientiously perform their duties and contribute to the conference's academic construction.

Outstanding Organization Award
Quota: 3 – 5
EligibilityServing on the MAID 2027 Conference Committee and actively participating in conference preparation, CFP, promotion, coordination, on-site execution and other organisational activities that effectively support the smooth operation of the conference.
CriteriaFocus on work dedication, conference coordination ability, execution strength, service support quality, and practical contributions to preparation, agenda arrangement, guest liaison and conference coordination.

Best Oral Presentation Award
1 per Track  |  On-site announcement
EligibilityAuthor registered; paper formally accepted; on-time on-site oral presentation in the designated track; full participation in the track's academic exchange.
CriteriaComprehensively evaluate overall presentation quality, covering innovation and frontier nature of the research, academic logical completeness, PPT formatting standard, on-site language delivery and logical output ability, academic Q&A interaction, and the academic value and application prospects of the research.

Best Poster Presentation Award
1 per Poster Track  |  On-site announcement
EligibilityAuthor registered; poster content based on a formally accepted paper; on-time on-site poster display and active participation in academic discussion and Q&A.
CriteriaFocus on poster design standard, layout clarity, research content innovation, completeness of result presentation, combined with the author's on-site academic communication and Q&A explanation professionalism, plus the research value and application potential of the work.

Review Rules

1. The entire selection process adheres to the principles of Fairness, Justice and Openness. No special credits or internal preferential mechanisms are applied. All results are determined solely by academic quality, research achievements and work contribution.

2. All award-winning lists, after collective deliberation, verification and confirmation by the review panel, will be officially publicized and announced by the MAID 2027 Organizing Committee. Official conference honorary certificates will be issued to the recipients.

3. Any submission found to involve academic misconduct, false declaration or other irregularities will be immediately disqualified from evaluation or have the award revoked; all related consequences shall be borne by the individual.
